CALLING ALL TROOPS! Texas County, MO: 3 BASSET HOUNDS Abandoned, STARVED - NO WATER for a week
Folks, this truly is an emergency. The heat in Missouri this week is between 100 - 117 degrees (mercury to index).
These three basset hounds were found out in the heat with no water, no food and tied to trees in the back yard of an abandoned house. The female cannot even lift her head she is so weak.
The police went to give them food and water but that is all. We need immediate help for them.
The number to the police station is 417-967-4165 and the person who notified us of these poor souls needing help is Chris Bly and the email to contact Chris for more info (if necessary) is _jbly1@kc.rr.com_

We have rescue lined up for these 3. Unfortunately the owners returned and animal control can not legally get the dogs out. As soon as they can they will be safe.

I wished animal control would have gotten the dogs before the owners returned. I hope the dogs can be rescued quickly.

A huge thanks to all the people in Missouri who have stepped up to help. I sent out an email yesterday and within 2 hours I had almost everyone call back offering help. I am humbled by their willingness to help.

It's not illegal to leave your dog tied up outside for a week with no food or water? Those people should be shot and AC needs a big kick in the ass!

I am so worried about these hounds. Chris, any update? Maybe the gate could accidentally open by itself?

No update - but they are keeping an eye on them. If I were closer the gate would've been open a long time ago. The a/c people know that rescue is holding spots open for them. It must be hare on them, too, knowin the situation but having no laws to help these bassies. Or all the other dogs that probably are in similar condtions.

I know someone that volunteers with a rescue south of Missouri that would open the gate!
